I’d like to think that after years of tracking my best and worst purchases, that I’ve refined the process a little. Less shopping regrets, more shopping wins. Part of which I put down to my 30 day shopping rule. Which if you’re not familiar, is a check and balance I implemented five years ago; basically, add item to wishlist, and if you’re still thinking about it 30 days later, then it’s a potential “add to cart”. Often, I’ll sit on it even longer; if it sells out, that’s okay. Unsurprisingly, it’s saved me from buying more things than I can count which I didn’t really want.
This, combined with my new shopping BFF – Carted – is basically the key to a well curated closet.
I personally always love to see what other people are shopping, so I thought it might be fun to reveal a handful of things that are currently sitting on my wishlist in partnership with Carted.
If you’re new to Carted, trust me when I say it’s like having a secret shopping assistant that’s always in your purse. Personally, I like to use the app to curate my moodboard for seasonal wishlists, as well as a tool to compare options if I’m looking for a very specific piece.
It’s been a bit of a gamechanger as I’m usually that person with 100+ tabs open on both their phone and laptop, so I’ve been relishing in the fact that I can consolidate everything within the app so it’s all in one place. And, it allows me to keep on top of my 30 day shopping rule, as Carted keeps tabs on the date you saved each item to one of your lists.
Then, once you’ve bought an item, you can tag it as “purchased” to monitor everything you’ve added to your wardrobe, too.
The best part is, that Carted tracks price changes, so will send you through a notification whenever there’s a price drop on an item in your wishlist. Win-win.

These jeans have been all over my TikTok, so perhaps it’s no surprise that they’ve crept onto my wishlist. I’m always scouting out new denim brands to try, and I really liked this mid-blue wash, and the fact that the fit isn’t too slim through the leg. They also tick a couple of the other boxes I have when shopping around for denim. 100% cotton (I recommend 1-2% elastane at most if you want your jeans to last a long time), and a high rise.
SIR. Molinier Narrow Leather Belt
I don’t subscribe to the idea that you’re either a belt person or you’re not. But if you asked me if I was, it’s a very loud yes. When you’re thinking about how to lift your outfit in as few steps as possible, a belt is one of the main players. This one from SIR. caught my eye because of the unique, slightly organic, curved buckle. Belts will last a long time so I live by the motto buy once, buy well so am always happy to spend a little more to get a good quality leather version.
This might feel like a bit of a wild card purchase for me, but I’ve been eying up this skirt for the better part of the last two months. Perhaps the only thing stopping me from buying it is that it’s 100% silk so I’m tossing up whether the maintenance is something I have in me to follow through with. That blurred floral print feels like the flowers are in motion, and I love the raw edged panel that Lee pops at the bottom of many of her skirts as a signature detail.
Madewell T-Strap Sandals in Stamped Leather
Of course it’s winter and here I am, dreaming about a pair of sandals. But, it’s one of the hardest working categories in my closet, that I’m always looking out for good options. And after adding these Mary Janes from Madewell to my wardrobe a couple months’ back, I feel pretty confident that I’d end up loving these just as much. The reason why these are so good is the strap placement; below the ankle. I tend to seek this out as it doesn’t create that awkward visual break which has the illusion of cutting your leg in half. Also, that yellow python print. Chic!
Shona Joy Linen Strapless Mini Dress
Another wild card piece, but if you’ll recall from earlier in the year, I was on the hunt for a summer mini dress in any colour. Basically the only limitation I put on myself was to avoid white or black as I have a glut of options already. This feels a little holiday inspired with an all over tropical print which is rooted in earthy neutrals. Plus I love that the belted section sits quite high up on the waist (helps give the illusion of longer legs). It’s linen too, so passes the ease of care test.
More shoes, but as I always say, accessories have a huge impact on the look and feel of our outfit. So, I’ll always invest time in finding the right ones to complement the clothing pieces I have in my closet. It’s a little funny to me to have the G.H. Bass Loafers on my wishlist. Not because they aren’t classic (they are), but because I coveted them over a decade ago. I never went through with it as I was living in NZ, so access to brands like G.H. Bass was fairily limited. And then I went and bought the Gucci loafers, which I embarrassingly never wear. This is something I’m thinking about adding to cart imminently, just crossing fingers I’ll see a price drop alert come through on the Carted app soon…
Raey Dream Fluid Sleeveless Jacket
One of the shopping mistakes I’ll often try to avoid, is buying multiples of something I already own. But occasionally, I’ll make an exception. I love a sleeveless blazer, worn fully fastened over a skirt or pair of shorts, and thought this would be a beautiful companion piece to a more affordable option I have in black. The obvious way I’d wear this is with a fluid drape trouser or silky skirt, but I also like the idea of teaming it with a creamy coloured short too. Or worn open as that “third” piece. Summers seem to go on forever in Sydney, so this is a great way to elevate my outfit game while still feeling easy, effortless, relaxed. I’ve already had two alerts from Carted to let me know about price drops, but I’m holding my breath to see if another one will come through in the next fortnight or so before I buy.
Wrapping up with a couple of homewares bits on my wishlist. I’ve been eyeing up this oak-veneer console table for a few years as I thought it would be a great addition to one of the kid’s bedrooms to set up all their toys. It’s minimally designed, but has warmth because of the oak-look exterior. Honestly the only reason why this is still on here is that I’m waiting for our daughter to transition into a “big kid” bed before I start buying any new furniture for their rooms.
McMullin & Co Wilma Marble Bowl
Just looking at this, you can tell it is hefty (8.9kg to be exact!). I’m thinking this would look great styled as a decorative piece on our TV cabinet, or more pragmatically utilised on our countertop/dining table for citrus or fruit. One of the beautiful things about marble is that no two pieces are the same, and I like that this gives a slight sense of individuality to it.
Foxtrot Home Linen Duvet in ‘Cactus’
I’ve been wanting to update the bedding in our room to reflect some of the green elements we’ve built into the house. First thing I did was buy these dark green and off-white sheets from Country Road, but they didn’t have a matching duvet cover. It’s felt like an impossible to task to find the exact right shade of green to pair with it, but I think I’ve finally done it with this ‘cactus’ hue from Foxtrot Home.
So that’s just a peek at what I’ve been saving on my Carted wishlist. Curious to know what’s on yours. And if you haven’t already, you can download the Carted app here.
Thanks to Carted for partnering with me on this weeks newsletter!
