Styling > Shopping. Something I read recently really stuck; I’m paraphrasing here but the context was, that we often shop for our fantasy self, but we style for our actual selves.
Perhaps timely, but my friend Rose was chatting on her stories today about items we buy to “feel” fresh, but that we wear to dial up a simple tee and jeans. So is it really a new outfit? That that “fresh” feeling fades once the piece becomes part of our closet, so that longing for new, modernity, or something different resurfaces once again.
So I wanted to talk about the things that I personally do, that breathe new life into my tried and true style uniforms. Things that will still feel like you, but feel new. Because often what tends to happen is that we fall into a cycle of wearing the same combinations. Wear, rinse, repeat.
