Wrapping up this week with a new series, sharing my weekly style diaries. With my next capsule edit coming out early next week, I thought I’d cut this one short. Five days of outfits, including what I will typically throw on when I don’t want to think on the weekends. Hoping that by running through what I’m wearing it’ll give you some inspiration for outfits that work in real life, along with styling tips thrown in here and there. PS. MONDAY
Monday was hot. I remember thinking even with this combo on, that I felt a bit sticky. If I’m honest, it took me a long time to come around to the waistcoat trend (side note, it was actually one of those trends that I was so tired of), but this longline style reads more as a sleeveless blazer than anything else so completely here for it. You can see a long of my usual tricks. All black outfit to elongate, utilising the rue of thirds, and adding in texture. This felt easy, but chic and put together. Accessories definitely have a role to play too - the textured statement earrings are ones I’ve been reaching for a lot when I’m wearing a minimal outfit as they’re so eye-catching.
Wearing: Y.A.S vest, SIR the label shorts, YSL slides, Sezane bag, Pamela Card earrings (10% off with JAMIELEE10), Linjer diamond studs (20% off with JAMIE20), Monica Vinader heart necklace
TUESDAY
Sorry for the wonky images here, but another sunny day outfit. I don’t make a *point* of matching my shoes and my bag, but it can be an effective way of neutralising your outfit and also, keeping the colour palette down to a minimum (especially if you’re working the three colour rule into your outfit schematics). This dress, is a textured knit and I love how the embossed pattern is really quite striking and stands out. The bag is a new addition. I don’t often buy on impulse, but this one I couldn’t resist adding to cart, and I thought the price point for the craftsmanship was more than fair. It has this Bottega-esque element, but without anything even close to the price tag. Not the most practical when I have the kids with me, but I’ve found if I throw it as far back over my shoulder as possible, it won’t slip off.
Wearing: ONTE knit dress (on sale), Mara & Mine sandals (brand on hiatus), St. Agni bag, Monica Vinader bracelet
WEDNESDAY
So a little secret that I don’t think I share enough… Usually I’ll get dressed first thing for daycare drop off, and then I’ll get changed for work once I get back home. I’ve found that this is key to ensuring I don’t end up with peanut butter smeared all over my freshly washed trousers before 8am (true story). This was an outfit that felt like I was wearing loungewear, but elevated. The top is this slinky ribbed fabrication, which I love for the dainty stripe - has that feeling of being a Parisian classic. Silk trousers are way underrated, especially when they have an elasticated waistband. These ones look really chic when worn with lush knitwear, but I thought they paired nicely with this top to add in a refined textural component. Went with black shoes to extend that visual line - in the suede again they just add in some more interest. And the BAG. I’m not against mixing black and brown together, and actually just like navy and brown I think it’s an interesting way to play on the subtle difference in colour with darker shades.
Wearing: Goelia striped tank (25% off with JAMIE25), Assembly Label trousers, Sezane ballet flats, St. Agni bag, Adornmonde earrings, Mejuri necklace (10% off with this link), Pamela Card bracelet (10% off with JAMIELEE10)
