This week’s post is coming a little late (keep an eye out for the winter capsule in your inbox this Sunday), so I thought I’d wrap up the week with a quick run down of everything I’ve been wearing. It’s finally getting chillier here in Sydney, though I’ll admit I sometimes struggle to wrap my head around the fact that winter is literally on our doorstep. Especially when with a bit of light exercise zero layers are required (sleeveless tops only).
MONDAY
Wearing Tradlands cardigan (15% off with JAMIEL15), COS brooch, DISSH trousers, Tibi boots, Ca-fune bag & By Ayllon necklace
Always partial to an all black look; for Monday, opting to wear this cardigan in place of a top. As it doesn’t have any front fastenings, I used a small safety pin to secure it at the bust, and a brooch to pinch it over to the side for more of a “wrapped” effect. One of those styling “hacks” which actually feels effortless and requires zero adjusting over the course of the day.
TUESDAY
Wearing The Row Ophelia sweater, Sportscraft silver jeans, Aeyde heels, Manuel Dreesman bag
I’m realising as I type this, that every outfit I wore this week involved some sort of tonal element. For Tuesday, it was shades of grey - a great way to tone down a silver (!!) pair of jeans. Which side note, I’ve been wanting to add a silver pant of some sort into my wardrobe for years so was thrilled to snag this coated denim pair on sale recently. I last bought a pair back in 2018 from Topshop; a lustrous silver pant which I’m 99.9% sure I never ended up wearing. To me, these straddle that fine line of feeling elevated, but still casual and easy enough to wear for every day. I think ‘cos they’re a coated denim. FYI these are the Bec jeans from Sportscraft, which I now own in three colours. Slowly collecting them, it seems. Definitely an underrated option if you’re looking for a comfy straight leg jean. Also, I’m pre-empting a full on deep dive into the Ophelia post proper wear and tear for my autumn most worn, but if you can’t tell, I am dead set on getting my cost-per-wear out of this sweater.
WEDNESDAY
Wearing Minima Esenciales cardigan, Minima Esenciales skirt, Aeyde heels, Saben bag
I will forever love this simple pairing; the slouchy cardigan (worn buttoned up) over a mini skirt. It’s an easy blend of something that feels a bit sexier (hello legs!), with a piece which is traditionally more casual and cosy. Tension is always the key to an interesting look. I ended up missing out on attending Fashion Week this year due to work commitments + a sick household, so it was wonderful to be invited to the S/S collection preview of Lover and Minima Esenciales (note: outfit supplied). Just to that point about the weather earlier… even this level of “layering” almost felt like too much.
Toteme dupe flats from Mollini - recommend sticking with your usual size.
Because it would be rude note to, I had to mention these flats I recently shopped from Mollini. A clear dupe for the Toteme animal print flats that I’ve been coveting for months now. Can confirm that they are very nice, though do require a bit of breaking in.
